AhlulBayt News Agency: On the occasion of the 36th death anniversary of the late Imam Ruhollah Khomeini, scholars, preachers, and poets from various countries gathered for an international conference organized by the Shia Ulema Board of Maharashtra, India, to pay tribute to one of the most influential figures of the 20th century.

The conference commenced with opening remarks by Mr. Mohammad Reza Fazel, Director of the Iran Culture House, who described Imam Khomeini as a unique intellectual and spiritual leader. He stated, “Through his revolutionary and spiritual teachings, Imam Khomeini paved the way for independence and reform across the Muslim Ummah. His message continues to serve as a guiding light for millions.”

Prominent Indian Islamic scholar and Secretary of Tanzeemul Makatib, one of India's largest religious institutions, Hujjat al-Islam Syed Safi Haider Zaidi, highlighted the enduring nature of Imam Khomeini’s revolution. “Unlike other revolutions that fade with time, this one continues to expand and illuminate hearts across the world,” he said. “The reason lies in its roots — it carries the light that was kindled on the night of Ashura by Imam Hussain (A.S.) when the lamps were extinguished in Karbala.”

Hujjat al-Islam Safi Haider Zaidi also acknowledged the continuity and strength of the Islamic Revolution under the leadership of Ayatollah Khamenei. “At one point, many wondered who would carry the torch after Imam Khomeini. But thanks be to God, the Supreme Leader has not only preserved the revolution but has further strengthened it as a true deputy of the Imam,” he stated.

The event served as a powerful reminder of Imam Khomeini’s legacy and his lasting influence on global Islamic awakening.
